Seniors

Resurrection provides seniors (55 and over) with a rich and diverse opportunity for Sharing Christ’s love with others. Caring for those in need of spiritual and physical support. Preparing monthly get-togethers and occasional social outings and Daring to engage in community outreach.

The seniors of Resurrection have formed a group called SAIL (Seniors Acting In Love) which provides an opportunity for Christ-centered social gatherings. In addition to scheduled monthly luncheons SAIL selects (with pastoral guidance) a monthly mission project.

These have included:

• "Pennies from Heaven" – to support the International Heifer project
• Coordinating the Orphan Grain Train Clothing project
• Support of a student at Concordia Seminary
• Preparing boxes of goodies for our college students
• Providing Calendars and greeting cards to local nursing home residents
• Collecting food supplies for Lutheran Family Services; …and much more.

SAIL also was instrumental in starting (free) weekly exercise classes for seniors, which has become quite popular.

We welcome new members and encourage new ideas for growth and the opportunity to serve and spread the love of Christ to all.
