Seniors

Resurrection provides seniors (55 and over) with a rich and diverse opportunity for sharing Christ’s love with others.

·         Caring for those in need of spiritual and physical support. 

·         Preparing monthly luncheons, planning entertainment and occasional social outings and daring to engage in community outreach through our SAIL (seniors acting in love) program. 

 

SAIL offers 9 monthly theme luncheons, each with a mission project. They have included:

 

·         Pennies from Heaven – to support the International Heifer Fund

·         The Orphan Grain Train Clothing Project

·         Collecting books and toiletries for our veterans at the Northport Veterans home.

·         Sponsoring a child’s vacation at the SonRise Lutheran camp

·         Support a student at Concordia Seminary

·         Providing calendars, greeting cards and lap top robes for nursing home residents

·         Collecting food for Lutheran Family Services.

·         Contributing to the ELVES Children’s Christmas Fund

 

SAIL also was instrumental in starting weekly exercise classes for seniors which has become quite popular for members and others in the community.
